See the Official Contest Rules below for complete details.
How is the winner chosen?
The Grand Prize winner will be determined entirely through skill-based judging according to the following criteria:
Technical Quality of the Digitized Embroidery File: 40 points / 40%
Quality of the Finished Stitch-Out: 30 points / 30%
Accuracy to the Official Challenge Artwork: 20 points / 20%
Staged Photo and Presentation: 10 points / 10%
Total: 100 points / 100%
This embroidery Challenge is designed primarily for beginner digitizers.
Entrants of all eligible experience levels may participate.
The Challenge Artwork will be designed so that it can be successfully digitized using the core principles and techniques taught in the Digitizerโs Dream Workshop.
The finished Challenge design must fit entirely within a standard 4 ร 4 inch (100 ร 100 mm) embroidery field.
Entrants are expected to make their own digitizing decisions while applying those principles and techniques to the Challenge Artwork.
Advanced techniques, added complexity, decorative embellishments, professional photography, expensive props, or techniques not taught or required in the Workshop will not receive additional points merely because they are more advanced or elaborate.
We are looking for the entrant who most successfully applies what they learned in the Workshop to a new design with creativity.
Social-media popularity does not count. Likes, comments, shares, followers, subscribers, views, and other engagement metrics will not influence judging.

Official Contest Rules
NO ENTRY FEE OR PURCHASE FROM EMBROIDERY LEGACY IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
The Digitizing Made Easy Challenge (the โChallengeโ) is a skill-based contest sponsored and administered solely by Dress Crest Embroidery Company Ltd., operating as Embroidery Legacy (โEmbroidery Legacy,โ โSponsor,โ โwe,โ โus,โ or โourโ).
The Grand Prize machine is being provided to Sponsor by Hirsch Solutions (โPrize Providerโ).
Hirsch Solutions is not a sponsor, administrator, judge, or operator of the Challenge and is not responsible for determining eligibility, judging entries, selecting the winner, administering entries, or enforcing these Official Contest Rules. Its involvement is limited to supplying and, where applicable, assisting Sponsor with fulfillment of the Grand Prize.
This is a contest of skill. The Grand Prize winner will be determined entirely through the skill-based judging process described in these Official Contest Rules. No random drawing, random finalist selection, random tie-breaker, or random winner selection will be used.
By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and by decisions made in good faith in accordance with the published judging criteria described below.
1. Challenge Period

- the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia; and
- Canada, excluding Quebec,
subject to applicable local laws and the additional eligibility requirements below.
To be eligible, an entrant must:
- be at least eighteen (18) years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is higher;
- be legally permitted to participate in the Challenge;
- be legally permitted to receive, import, possess, and use the Grand Prize in their jurisdiction;

Residents of Quebec are not eligible to enter.
The Challenge is void wherever prohibited or restricted by applicable law.
3. No Entry Fee or Sponsor Purchase Required
There is no entry fee to participate in the Challenge.
No purchase from Embroidery Legacy is required to enter or win.
The Digitizerโs Dream Workshop will be made available free of charge during the Challenge.
Eligible Workshop participants will also receive temporary promotional access to Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software for purposes of completing the Workshop and Challenge project.
Purchasing Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software or any other Sponsor product will not:
- increase an entrantโs score;
- improve an entrantโs chances of winning;
- provide additional entries;
- influence the judges; or
- otherwise provide an advantage in the Challenge.
This Challenge is designed for machine embroiderers.
Participants are responsible for obtaining access to the equipment, materials, and technology necessary to participate in the Challenge, including, but not limited to, an embroidery machine, fabric, thread, stabilizer, computer, internet connection, and any other ordinary materials or equipment reasonably necessary to complete and stitch the Challenge project.
These materials do not need to be purchased from Sponsor or Prize Provider.
4. How to Enter
Each entrant must complete all of the following requirements.
Step 1: Complete the Digitizerโs Dream Workshop
Enroll in and complete the free Digitizerโs Dream Workshop:
https://embroiderylegacy.com/machine-embroidery-classes/digitizing-education/workshop/
The Workshop teaches the core digitizing principles and techniques participants will need to complete the Challenge, including running stitches, satin stitches, fill stitches, object construction, stitch direction, underlay, density, pull compensation, sequencing, pathing, and related digitizing fundamentals.
The official Challenge Artwork is a separate project and will not be accompanied by a completed embroidery file, JDX project file, or step-by-step digitizing walkthrough.
Entrants are expected to independently apply the principles and techniques taught in the Workshop when creating their Challenge entry.
Entrants are responsible for allowing sufficient time to complete the Workshop and Challenge requirements before the entry deadline.
Step 2: Download and Personally Digitize the Official Challenge Artwork
Sponsor will provide entrants with a piece of artwork created or selected specifically for the Digitizing Made Easy Challenge (the โChallenge Artworkโ).
The official Challenge Artwork can be downloaded here:
https://embroiderylegacy.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/DigitizersChallengeContest.zip
The Challenge Artwork may also be provided with the entrantโs free Digitizerโs Dream Workshop enrollment or order for convenience.
Entrants are responsible for downloading the correct official Challenge Artwork and using that artwork for their Challenge entry.
The Challenge Artwork will be supplied as artwork or visual reference material for entrants to digitize themselves.
Sponsor will not provide entrants with a completed embroidery file or JDX project file for the Challenge Artwork.
Using Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software, each entrant must personally digitize the Challenge Artwork and create their own original JDX project file.
The entrant must personally perform the digitizing work and make the technical digitizing decisions used to create the entry.
These decisions may include, as applicable:
- stitch-type selection;
- object construction;
- stitch direction;
- underlay;
- density;
- pull compensation;
- sequencing and sewing order;
- pathing;
- appropriate start and stop points; and
- other digitizing decisions necessary to translate the supplied artwork into embroidery.
Sponsor may provide project specifications with the Challenge Artwork, including required dimensions, required visual elements, permitted choices, or other instructions that entrants must follow.
The finished Challenge design must fit entirely within a standard 4 ร 4 inch (100 ร 100 mm) embroidery field.
Entrants must remain reasonably faithful to the supplied Challenge Artwork and any mandatory project specifications.
Entrants may make reasonable creative and technical choices when digitizing the Challenge Artwork, provided the finished design remains clearly recognizable as an interpretation of the official Challenge Artwork and complies with any mandatory project specifications provided by Sponsor.
The following are not permitted:
- third-party digitizing services;
- another person digitizing any portion of the entry;
- another person materially creating or modifying the entrantโs JDX file;
- submitting another personโs digitizing work;
- using a pre-digitized embroidery file as the basis for the entry;
- using a previously completed embroidery file instead of independently digitizing the Challenge Artwork;
- creating the entry primarily in another digitizing-software application; or
- otherwise representing another personโs work as the entrantโs own.
Entrants may use the general lessons, support, troubleshooting, and Q&A resources available to Workshop participants, but the Challenge entry itself must be personally digitized by the entrant and may not be created or materially modified by another person.
Step 3: Stitch Out Your Design
Export the embroidery design created from your JDX project and physically stitch it out using an embroidery machine.
The submitted physical stitch-out must correspond to the submitted JDX project file.
A software simulation, preview, rendering, digitally recreated image, or AI-generated image does not satisfy the physical stitch-out requirement.
Step 4: Take Two Required Photos
Entrants must submit two photographs of the completed Challenge stitch-out.
Photo 1: Judging Photo
The Judging Photo must:
- clearly show the complete Challenge stitch-out;
- be photographed substantially straight-on;
- be sufficiently close and clear for judges to evaluate stitch quality;
- use adequate lighting;
- show the embroidery without props or objects obscuring important portions of the design; and
- accurately represent the appearance of the physical stitch-out.
The primary purpose of the Judging Photo is technical evaluation of the embroidery.
Photo 2: Staged Presentation Photo
Entrants must also submit a staged photograph presenting the completed Challenge stitch-out in a clear, thoughtful, and visually appealing manner.
The Staged Presentation Photo will be evaluated as part of the Staged Photo and Presentation judging category and may also be used for the required social-media post.
Professional camera equipment, expensive props, or elaborate staging are not necessary and do not automatically result in a higher score.
Permitted Photo Editing
Basic adjustments are permitted, including:
- cropping;
- brightness;
- exposure;
- white balance; and
- reasonable colour correction.
Editing must not materially alter, repair, hide, recreate, enhance, or misrepresent the actual quality of the embroidery.
The following are prohibited:
- AI-generated replacement images;
- digitally recreated stitch-outs;
- digitally repaired embroidery;
- digitally added stitches;
- removal of visible embroidery defects;
- composite images that materially alter the embroidery; or
- other manipulation that causes an image to inaccurately represent the physical stitch-out.
Sponsor may request additional unedited photographs or video of the physical stitch-out for verification.
Post a photo or video clearly showing the completed Challenge stitch-out on at least one of the following eligible platforms:
- TikTok
- YouTube
Entrants should tag the applicable official Embroidery Legacy account:
Facebook: John Deer Embroidery
https://www.facebook.com/JohnDeerEmbroidery
Instagram: @embroiderylegacy
https://www.instagram.com/embroiderylegacy
TikTok: @embroiderylegacy
https://www.tiktok.com/@embroiderylegacy
YouTube: @EmbroideryLegacy
https://www.youtube.com/@EmbroideryLegacy
Where the applicable platform permits tagging, the appropriate account must be tagged.
Each qualifying post must include:
#EmbroideryDigitizingSoftware
and
#DigitizingMadeEasyContest
The post must also clearly disclose that it is a contest entry.
Entrants should include wording substantially similar to:
โEntry in Embroidery Legacyโs #DigitizingMadeEasyContest.โ
The disclosure must be clear and reasonably noticeable and must not be hidden among unrelated hashtags.
For a qualifying video entry, the contest relationship must also be clearly communicated within the video itself, either visually on screen or verbally, where required by applicable law or platform rules.
Where a platform provides a required branded-content, promotional-content, commercial-content, or similar disclosure tool, entrants must use the applicable disclosure tool where required by that platform.
Likes, comments, views, followers, subscribers, shares, or other engagement metrics will not affect judging.
Step 6: Submit Your Official Challenge Entry
Before the entry deadline, submit your entry using the:
Official Challenge Submission Form: https://embroiderylegacy.com/digitizing-made-easy-challenge/submit/
The form will require entrants to provide:
- full name;
- email address;
- required contact information;
- state, province, or territory of residence;
- Judging Photo;
- Staged Presentation Photo;
- link to the qualifying social-media post;
- the original JDX project file used to create the submitted stitch-out; and
- any other information reasonably required to administer or verify the entry.
An entry is not complete until all required materials have been successfully received.
Sponsor may publish reasonable technical requirements concerning file size, format, or submission method.
Entrants are responsible for confirming that their entry was successfully submitted.
5. One Entry Per Person
Each person may submit a maximum of one (1) entry.
Posting the same project on multiple social-media platforms does not create additional entries.
Multiple accounts, photographs, social posts, email addresses, identities, or Workshop accounts may not be used to create additional Challenge entries.
Direct attempts to circumvent the one-entry limit may result in disqualification.
6. Retention of Physical Stitch-Out
Entrants must retain the physical Challenge stitch-out depicted in their submitted photographs until at least:
December 31, 2026
Sponsor may require a Finalist or potential winner to:
- provide additional photographs;
- provide unedited photographs;
- participate in reasonable live video verification showing the physical embroidery; or
- where reasonably necessary, provide the physical stitch-out for inspection.
If Sponsor requests physical inspection of the stitch-out, reasonable shipping arrangements will be communicated to the entrant.
Failure to retain or reasonably verify the submitted physical stitch-out may result in disqualification where Sponsor cannot otherwise confirm the authenticity of the entry.
7. Entry Requirements and Originality
Each entry must:
- feature the official Challenge Artwork supplied by Sponsor;
- be personally digitized by the entrant using Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software;
- comply with any mandatory project specifications supplied by Sponsor;
- originate from the Challenge Artwork supplied by Sponsor;
- fit entirely within a standard 4 ร 4 inch (100 ร 100 mm) embroidery field;
- be physically stitched out on an embroidery machine;
- correspond to the submitted JDX project file;
- represent the entrantโs own digitizing work;
- include both required photographs;
- include the required social-media post;
- include the original JDX project file;
- be submitted before the deadline; and
- comply with these Official Contest Rules.
Submitting, modifying, or simply stitching a pre-digitized embroidery file does not qualify as personally digitizing the Challenge Artwork.
The entry must reflect the entrantโs own application of the digitizing principles taught in the Workshop.
Sponsor may request reasonable additional evidence to verify originality and compliance, including:
- screenshots;
- exported embroidery files;
- JDX metadata;
- file metadata;
- additional photographs;
- unedited photographs;
- screen recordings;
- video of the physical stitch-out;
- information concerning the entrantโs workflow; or
- other reasonable supporting information.
Failure to provide reasonably requested verification within the time specified by Sponsor may result in disqualification.
8. Judging Process
The Digitizing Made Easy Challenge is a skill-based contest.
There will be no random drawing, lottery, random finalist selection, random tie-breaker, or random winner selection at any stage.
Depending on the number of eligible entries received, Sponsor may conduct judging in one or two rounds.
Preliminary Round
If Sponsor receives a volume of eligible entries that makes a single judging round impractical, eligible entries may first undergo a Preliminary Round.
Each eligible entry will be independently evaluated by at least one qualified judge using the same 100-point judging criteria published in these Official Contest Rules.
Sponsor may use multiple preliminary judging panels.
All preliminary judges will:
- use the same published criteria;
- receive substantially the same written scoring instructions; and
- be instructed to evaluate entries consistently according to the Workshop and Challenge requirements.
Sponsor may use sample projects or other reasonable calibration procedures to promote consistency among preliminary judging panels.
The ten (10) highest-scoring eligible entries from the Preliminary Round will advance to the Final Round.
If fewer than ten eligible entries are received, all eligible entries may advance.
If two or more entrants are tied for the final Finalist position, the tie-breaking procedure described in Section 11 will be applied.
Final Round
All Finalists will be independently rescored from the beginning by the same panel of at least three qualified judges.
Preliminary Round scores will not carry forward and will not determine the Grand Prize winner.
Only Final Round scores will determine the final ranking and Grand Prize winner.
If Sponsor receives a sufficiently small number of eligible entries, Sponsor may omit the Preliminary Round and have all eligible entries evaluated directly by the Final Round judging panel.
9. Judging Criteria
Each judge will score an entry out of a possible 100 points.
A. Technical Quality of the Digitized Embroidery File – 40 Points
Judges will evaluate the technical quality of the entrantโs digitizing work by reviewing the submitted JDX project file.
Judging will focus on how successfully the entrant independently applied the digitizing principles and techniques taught in the Digitizerโs Dream Workshop to the Challenge Artwork.
Factors may include:
- appropriate selection and use of stitch types;
- object construction;
- stitch direction;
- underlay;
- density;
- pull compensation;
- sequencing and sewing order;
- pathing;
- appropriate start and stop points;
- unnecessary jumps or trims;
- clean and efficient construction of the design; and
- overall application of the digitizing techniques taught in the Workshop.
Judges will evaluate entrants primarily on the techniques and fundamentals taught through the Workshop.
Advanced techniques, unnecessary complexity, or techniques outside the Workshop curriculum will not receive additional points merely because they are more advanced.
Maximum: 40 points
B. Quality of the Finished Stitch-Out – 30 Points
Judges will evaluate how successfully the entrantโs digitized embroidery file performs when physically embroidered.
Factors may include:
- clean and consistent stitching;
- registration;
- smoothness of shapes and edges;
- appropriate coverage;
- visible gaps;
- unwanted overlaps;
- puckering;
- distortion;
- unwanted shifting; and
- overall quality and cleanliness of the finished embroidery.
Judges should recognize that some aspects of a physical stitch-out may also be affected by factors outside the embroidery file itself, including embroidery-machine settings, fabric, stabilizer, thread, hooping, and machine tension.
The Judging Photo will be the primary photograph used for this category.
Sponsor may review additional submitted materials where reasonably necessary to evaluate or verify the stitch-out.
Maximum: 30 points
C. Accuracy to the Official Challenge Artwork – 20 Points
Judges will evaluate how accurately the entrantโs digitized and stitched design represents the official Challenge Artwork and any mandatory project specifications.
Entrants are expected to make their own technical digitizing decisions, but the finished design should remain faithful to the supplied Challenge Artwork.
Factors may include:
- overall shape;
- proportions;
- placement;
- alignment;
- required details;
- consistency with prescribed dimensions, where applicable; and
- overall faithfulness to the supplied Challenge Artwork.
Maximum: 20 points
D. Staged Photo and Presentation – 10 Points
Judges will evaluate how clearly and thoughtfully the entrant presents the completed stitch-out.
Factors may include:
- image clarity;
- lighting;
- framing;
- neatness;
- visibility of the embroidery;
- thoughtful staging; and
- overall presentation.
This category rewards clear and thoughtful presentation, not professional photography skill.
Professional photography equipment, expensive props, elaborate staging, or professional photography services will not automatically result in a higher score.
Maximum: 10 points
10. Final Scoring and Ranking
Each Final Round judge will independently score each Finalist.
The Final Round judgesโ scores for each Finalist will be averaged to produce that entrantโs Final Score.
Sponsor may calculate Final Scores to two decimal places.
The entrant with the highest Final Score will become the first-ranked potential Grand Prize winner.
Social-media popularity, customer status, purchase history, ownership of Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software, personal relationships, or other factors outside the published judging criteria will not influence scoring.
11. Tie-Breaking Procedure
If two or more entries receive the same applicable overall score, the tie will be resolved in the following order:
- Highest Technical Quality of the Digitized Embroidery File score.
- Highest Quality of the Finished Stitch-Out score.
- Highest Accuracy to the Official Challenge Artwork score.
- Highest Staged Photo and Presentation score.
If a tie still remains, an additional qualified judge who did not previously score the tied entries will independently evaluate those entries using the same published 100-point judging criteria.
The entrant receiving the higher score from the additional judge will rank higher.
If an exact tie remains, another qualified judge who has not previously scored those entries will conduct the same skill-based evaluation.
This process will continue as reasonably necessary until the tie is resolved.
No random tie-breaker will be used.
12. Judges and Conflicts of Interest
Judges may include employees, contractors, educators, or other representatives of Embroidery Legacy who have relevant embroidery, digitizing, or related technical expertise. Judges are not required to be independent third parties.
A judge who has a personal, family, financial, employment, business, or other relationship with an entrant that could reasonably call the judgeโs impartiality into question must disclose that relationship and must recuse themselves from judging the affected entry.
A replacement qualified judge will score the entry where necessary.
Judges may not consider:
- personal relationships;
- popularity;
- social-media engagement;
- customer status;
- purchase history;
- whether an entrant owns Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software; or
- factors outside the published judging criteria.
Judging decisions made in good faith under these Official Contest Rules will be final to the extent permitted by applicable law.
13. Judging Results and Rankings
Sponsor is not required to publish or otherwise provide a complete ranking of Challenge entrants.
Except where required by applicable law, Sponsor is also not required to publicly disclose:
- individual judging scores;
- Preliminary Round rankings;
- Final Round rankings other than the confirmed winner;
- judgesโ notes or comments;
- internal scoring records;
- judging deliberations; or
- comparative evaluations of entrants.
Sponsor may, in its discretion, announce or recognize Finalists or other entrants.
Any request by an entrant for access to personal information held by Sponsor will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy law and Sponsorโs Privacy Policy.
The absence of published scores, rankings, judging notes, or deliberations does not affect the validity of the judging process or the final results.
14. Grand Prize
One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive:
One (1) Tajima SAI embroidery machine
Approximate retail value:
Approximately US$10,000
The Tajima SAI Grand Prize is being supplied to Sponsor by Hirsch Solutions.
Sponsor is solely responsible for administration of the Challenge, including eligibility determinations, judging, winner selection, winner verification, and administration of these Official Contest Rules.
Hirsch Solutions does not administer or judge the Challenge and is not responsible for determining or selecting the winner.
The Grand Prize includes only the machine and any accessories or materials expressly identified by Sponsor as included.
No difference between the stated approximate retail value and the actual retail value at the time of fulfillment will be awarded in cash.
The Grand Prize is non-transferable and may not be assigned, redeemed, or exchanged for cash except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by Sponsor.
If the advertised Grand Prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond Sponsorโs reasonable control, Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater approximate retail value where permitted by law.
Except for any manufacturer or supplier warranty expressly applicable to the Grand Prize, and except where prohibited by law, Sponsor makes no additional warranty, representation, or guarantee concerning the Grand Prize.
Any applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty is subject to its own terms and conditions.
15. Prize Shipping, Importation, and Delivery
Sponsor will coordinate fulfillment of the Grand Prize.
Sponsor may arrange for the Grand Prize to be shipped or delivered directly by Hirsch Solutions or another fulfillment provider acting on Sponsorโs behalf.
Use of Hirsch Solutions or another third party for Prize fulfillment does not make that party a sponsor, administrator, judge, or operator of the Challenge.
Standard shipping will be provided at no charge to a qualifying winner located within the continental United States.
If the winner is located outside the continental United States, the winner will be responsible for costs not expressly agreed to in writing by Sponsor, including where applicable:
- shipping;
- freight;
- customs charges;
- import duties;
- tariffs;
- brokerage charges;
- import taxes;
- local taxes;
- government fees;
- delivery surcharges;
- required permits; and
- other costs associated with importing, transporting, receiving, installing, or using the machine.
These costs may be significant.
The winner is responsible for determining whether the Tajima SAI can legally be imported, delivered, possessed, installed, and used in their jurisdiction.
If a potential winner:
- resides in a jurisdiction where the Grand Prize cannot lawfully be delivered;
- cannot legally receive the Grand Prize;
- is unable or unwilling to satisfy applicable import or delivery requirements;
- is unable or unwilling to pay costs for which the winner is responsible; or
- otherwise cannot lawfully receive the Grand Prize,
the potential winner may be disqualified and Sponsor may proceed to the next-highest-ranked eligible entrant.
16. Winner Notification and Announcement
Sponsor expects to identify the first-ranked potential winner by November 28, 2026.
Sponsor may publicly announce the potential winner during its November 28 livestream and through its website, email, or social-media accounts.
The potential winner does not need to attend or watch the livestream.
Sponsor will contact the potential winner using the information submitted with the Challenge entry.
The potential winner must respond within:
Forty-eight (48) hours of Sponsorโs initial winner notification.
If the first-ranked potential winner:
- cannot be contacted after reasonable efforts;
- does not respond within 48 hours;
- is determined to be ineligible;
- cannot satisfactorily verify the entry;
- declines the Grand Prize;
- cannot legally receive the Grand Prize;
- fails to complete required winner documentation; or
- otherwise fails to comply with these Official Contest Rules,
that potential winner may be disqualified.
Sponsor may then proceed to the entrant with the next-highest Final Score.
This process may continue in ranking order until an eligible potential winner successfully completes verification and accepts the Grand Prize.
Sponsor expects to confirm the final winner no later than December 15, 2026, subject to any additional time reasonably required to complete eligibility, fraud, import, tax, or other legally necessary verification.
Following final confirmation, Sponsor will begin coordinating fulfillment of the Grand Prize. Delivery timing may vary depending on machine availability, shipping conditions, import requirements, winner cooperation, fulfillment-provider timelines, and other circumstances outside Sponsorโs reasonable control. No specific delivery date is guaranteed.
17. Winner Verification
A person receiving a winner notification remains a potential winner until Sponsor confirms that all requirements have been satisfied.
Sponsor may require:
- proof of identity;
- proof of age;
- proof of legal residence;
- contact information;
- verification of the social-media account used for entry;
- the original JDX project file;
- exported embroidery files;
- file metadata;
- additional photographs;
- unedited photographs;
- screenshots;
- screen recordings;
- video showing the physical stitch-out;
- live video verification;
- information concerning the entrantโs digitizing workflow;
- proof that the entrant personally completed the digitizing work;
- a declaration of eligibility;
- appropriate liability or publicity releases;
- tax documentation or tax-identification information; and
- other reasonable information necessary to verify compliance.
Failure to provide reasonably requested information within the time specified by Sponsor may result in disqualification.
18. Temporary Software Access
Eligible Workshop participants may receive temporary promotional access to the full version of Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software.
Each promotional licence will remain active for up to thirty (30) days following activation.
All promotional Challenge licences will permanently expire no later than:
January 1, 2027
A licence activated fewer than 30 days before January 1, 2027 will therefore expire on January 1 rather than remaining active for a full 30 days.
Promotional licences are temporary, individual, non-transferable, and subject to applicable software licence terms.
Creating multiple accounts, using multiple identities, sharing or transferring promotional access, circumventing licence restrictions, or attempting to obtain unauthorized additional access may result in licence deactivation and Challenge disqualification.
By installing, accessing, or using Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software, participants agree to be bound by Embroidery Legacyโs applicable Terms of Use and Tajima softwareโs applicable End User License Agreement.
Device Compatibility and Installation
Participants are solely responsible for confirming, before relying on the promotional software access to complete their Challenge entry, that their computer, operating system, hardware, internet connection, and other required technology satisfy the published system requirements for Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software (see page FAQs).
Sponsor does not guarantee that Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software will install, activate, operate, or perform properly on every computer, device, operating system, hardware configuration, virtual environment, or individual technology setup.
Participants are responsible for:
- ensuring their computer meets the published system requirements;
- maintaining a compatible and properly functioning computer and operating system;
- installing required operating-system updates, drivers, or supporting software where applicable;
- maintaining sufficient internet access for downloading, activation, or other online functionality;
- allowing sufficient time to download, install, activate, learn, and use the software before the Challenge deadline; and
- resolving issues arising from the participantโs own hardware, operating system, device configuration, security settings, third-party software, internet connection, or other technology outside Sponsorโs reasonable control.
An individual participantโs inability to install, activate, access, or operate the software because of an incompatible device, unsupported operating system, failure to meet published system requirements, local computer configuration, hardware limitation, or other circumstance outside Sponsorโs reasonable control does not automatically extend the Challenge deadline or excuse the entrant from the entry requirements.
Sponsor may provide reasonable technical-support resources but does not guarantee that every individual compatibility, installation, configuration, or device-specific issue can be resolved.
If a widespread technical failure involving Sponsorโs software, licensing system, download system, or other systems under Sponsorโs reasonable control materially affects a substantial number of participants, Sponsor may take the corrective measures described in the Technical Issues section of these Official Contest Rules.
Nothing in this section limits any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Each qualifying social-media post must clearly disclose that it is a contest entry.
Posts must include:
#EmbroideryDigitizingSoftware

#DigitizingMadeEasyContest
Entrants should also include wording substantially similar to:
โEntry in Embroidery Legacyโs #DigitizingMadeEasyContest.โ
The disclosure must be prominent and reasonably noticeable.
For video posts, the contest relationship must also be disclosed within the video where required by applicable law or platform rules.
Entrants must comply with all applicable platform disclosure requirements, including any required branded-content, paid-promotion, or commercial-content disclosure setting.
20. Public Accessibility of Social Posts
The qualifying post must remain publicly accessible, or otherwise reasonably accessible to Sponsor for verification, until the Grand Prize winner has been confirmed.
Sponsor is not responsible for inability to verify a post because it:
- was deleted;
- was made private;
- was removed or restricted;
- became inaccessible because of account settings;
- contains a broken link;
- is geo-restricted; or
- is otherwise unavailable for reasons outside Sponsorโs reasonable control.
21. Entrant Representations
By submitting an entry, each entrant represents and warrants that:
- the digitizing work was personally completed by the entrant;
- the entry complies with these Official Contest Rules;
- submitted photographs and videos accurately depict the physical stitch-out;
- the entrant owns or has necessary rights to original material submitted;
- the entry does not unlawfully infringe another personโs copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- the entry does not contain unlawful, defamatory, threatening, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise prohibited material; and
- the entry does not contain third-party material in a manner that prevents Sponsor from lawfully administering or promoting the Challenge.
Entrants should avoid incorporating third-party music, artwork, logos, videos, photographs, or other copyrighted material unless they possess all necessary rights.
22. Rights to Submitted Content
Entrants retain ownership of their original photographs, videos, digitizing work, and other original content, subject to Sponsorโs pre-existing rights in the Challenge Artwork, Workshop materials, software, trademarks, and other Sponsor materials.
By entering, each entrant grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, display, repost, resize, crop, format, publish, and share qualifying Challenge-submission content for purposes reasonably connected with:
- Challenge administration;
- judging;
- verification;
- finalist or winner announcements;
- promotion of the Challenge;
- promotion of future Challenge programs;
- Sponsor websites;
- email;
- social media;
- YouTube;

This licence does not transfer ownership of the entrantโs original content.
Sponsor will not intentionally reuse third-party music or other third-party platform assets outside the applicable platform unless Sponsor possesses the necessary rights.
JDX files may be accessed, copied, stored, and reviewed for:
- Challenge administration;
- judging;
- verification;
- fraud prevention;

Sponsor will not make an entrantโs complete JDX project file publicly downloadable without additional permission.
23. Sponsor Intellectual Property
The official Challenge Artwork, Workshop materials, Embroidery Legacy Digitizing Software, Sponsor trademarks, educational materials, and other Sponsor content remain the property of Sponsor or their respective rights holders.
Participation does not transfer ownership of those materials.
Sponsor grants eligible participants limited permission to use the supplied Challenge Artwork and materials as reasonably necessary to:
- participate in the Workshop;
- create the Challenge entry;
- digitize and stitch the Challenge project;
- publish the qualifying social-media post; and
- submit the entry.
This permission does not authorize unrelated commercial resale, redistribution, or licensing.
24. Publicity
Where permitted by applicable law, by accepting the Grand Prize, the confirmed winner grants Sponsor permission to publicly announce and use the winnerโs:
- name;
- city and state/province;
- image;
- likeness;
- submitted project;
- qualifying photographs or videos; and
- statements concerning the Challenge
in connection with announcing the Challenge results and for reasonable promotional and publicity purposes, including on Sponsorโs:
- website;
- email communications;
- social-media accounts;
- YouTube channel;
- livestreams; and
- other promotional materials.
Such use may occur without additional compensation to the winner.
25. Social Platform Disclaimer
The Challenge is sponsored and administered solely by Embroidery Legacy.
It is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with:

27. Taxes and Tax Documentation
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, the winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, provincial, territorial, local, income, import, and other taxes or government charges associated with acceptance or receipt of the Grand Prize.
Sponsor may require the potential winner to provide tax-identification information or complete tax documentation required for Grand Prize fulfillment or reporting.
Sponsor may report the Grand Prize and its value to applicable tax authorities where required by law.
Failure to provide required tax documentation may result in inability to award the Grand Prize and may result in disqualification where permitted by law.
28. Technical Issues
Sponsor is not responsible for entries that cannot be completed, submitted, accessed, viewed, downloaded, installed, activated, uploaded, or verified because of technical circumstances outside Sponsorโs reasonable control, including:

Participants are responsible for allowing sufficient time before the deadline to complete all required Challenge activities.
Sponsor may permit correction of a purely technical submission issue where:
- the original submission attempt occurred before the deadline;
- reasonable evidence of the timely attempt exists;
- the correction does not allow the entrant to materially improve the judged work after the deadline; and
- the entrant does not receive an unfair advantage.
If a widespread technical failure involving Sponsorโs website, licensing system, learning platform, or entry-submission system materially prevents a substantial number of participants from submitting entries, Sponsor may:
- extend the deadline;
- provide an alternative submission method;
- restore access;
- reschedule an affected portion of the Challenge; or
- take other reasonable action necessary to preserve fairness.
29. Challenge Integrity and Disqualification

30. Modification, Suspension, or Cancellation
Sponsor intends to administer the Challenge and award the Grand Prize according to these Official Contest Rules.
If fraud, technical failures, legal restrictions, platform disruptions, security incidents, natural disasters, force majeure events, governmental action, or other circumstances beyond Sponsorโs reasonable control materially compromise the fairness, security, integrity, or lawful operation of the Challenge, Sponsor may, to the extent permitted by law:
- modify the Challenge;
- extend deadlines;
- postpone portions of the Challenge;
- suspend the Challenge; or
- cancel the Challenge.
Sponsor will not materially alter the published judging criteria after entry submission for the purpose of favouring or disadvantaging a particular entrant.
Where reasonably possible, material modifications will be communicated to affected participants.

32. Decisions and Administration
Sponsor will determine whether entrants and submissions satisfy the objective eligibility and entry requirements contained in these Official Contest Rules.
Qualified judges will score eligible submissions according to the published judging criteria.
Judging scores, tie-breaking determinations, eligibility decisions, verification decisions, and rankings made in good faith and in accordance with these Official Contest Rules will be final to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Sponsor may correct obvious clerical, typographical, administrative, or mathematical errors where doing so does not materially change the Challenge or unfairly affect an entrant.
No random drawing or random winner selection will be used.
33. Official Rules Control
These Official Contest Rules govern the Challenge.
Advertising, emails, social-media posts, videos, landing pages, Workshop materials, livestream statements, FAQs, or other promotional materials may summarize these Official Contest Rules.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute, claim, or legal proceeding arising out of or relating to the Challenge or these Official Contest Rules will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
Mandatory rights, remedies, protections, and jurisdictional requirements under applicable local, state, provincial, territorial, federal, or other laws that cannot legally be waived will continue to apply.
37. Void Where Prohibited
