$99.95

Course Information:

  • Video 1 — Small Frog: Run-Stitch Outline Fundamentals Learn why traditional satin borders stop working on tiny embroidery designs and how to replace them with clean, two-pass run-stitch outlines. You’ll build a complete 1.5-inch design while mastering manual pathing, tie-ins. Tie-outs, start-and-stop placement, stitch angles, push-and-pull compensations, and the proper sequencing of fills, satins, and outlines for stronger stitch quality.
  • Video 2 — Small Bunny: Layering and Smart Pathing Take your skills further with a more detailed asymmetrical design. You’ll learn how to hide trims through better starting points, map interior details with run stitches, and improve Smart Join results. Adjust start-and-stop points, eliminate unnecessary underlay, and speed up your workflow using copy, mirror, and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Video 3 — Porcupine & Mushroom: Planning Complex Small Designs Discover how experienced digitizers simplify detailed artwork by dividing it into manageable embroidery sections. Learn to sequence complex elements, overlap objects to prevent gaps, protect delicate areas from shifting, control stitch direction, adjust density, experiment with fill patterns, and create decorative texture while maintaining clean registration.
  • Bonus Lesson – Honeybee: Combining Run and Satin Outlines Bring everything together in a compact honeybee project. You’ll learn how to transition between run and satin stitches without unwanted trims, use Snap to Anchors effectively, duplicate and mirror repeated shapes, refine your pathing as the design evolves, and make final corrections after reviewing the complete stitch-out.

What you’ll master in this class

Small embroidery designs demand a completely different approach than larger projects, and this masterclass shows you exactly how experienced digitizers make those decisions. Rather than relying on fixed rules, you’ll learn how artwork, finished size, stitch direction, layering, and fabric movement all influence your digitizing choices. Every project is stitched on an embroidery machine so you can compare what you created on-screen with the finished embroidery and understand why adjustments are often necessary. You’ll also discover how to evaluate test stitch-outs and confidently refine compensation, density, sequencing, and pathing for even better results. Built on decades of Embroidery Legacy expertise, this class gives intermediate embroiderers the practical techniques needed to produce cleaner, more reliable small embroidery designs with confidence.
